Brilliant Sky Toys & Books was founded in 2002 by Brent and Sonia Taylor, parents and visionary entrepreneurs driven to create the finest toy store in America – one with a focus on bringing families together to get the most from their valuable playtime.
The concept was immediately well received. In 2003, Playthings Magazine, a leading toy industry publication, awarded Brilliant Sky Toys & Books its Industry Achievement Award for “Best New Store Design”. 2005 brought more accolades as Travel Savvy Magazine named Brilliant Sky Toys & Books one of “America’s Top Seven Toy Shops”. Most recently, Brilliant Sky Toys & Books was selected by the Edward Lowe foundation for inclusion in the “Michigan 50”, a list of fifty companies actively contributing to the revitalization of the economy.
Beginning in 2007, the Taylor’s sought to bring their winning formula to a larger audience through franchising. Again, the business model was embraced whole-heartedly and the next chapter in the Brilliant Sky story had begun.
Today, Brilliant Sky Toys & Books has become one of the largest and fastest growing concepts in specialty toy retailing, and is expanding by awarding franchises to exceptional candidates nationwide.
Brilliant Sky was the perfect fit for us because we strive to make our store the perfect fit for every customer that walks through the door, and that philosophy is at the core of the Brilliant Sky mission.
